Here's a low poly samurai character I modeled last night. I still have to make it look like he's wearing more armor. My goal is to have it rigged and textured before school starts up again.

So this is a work in progress with a long way to go, but I've found this Christmas-break project to be a great learning opportunity. I'm very happy with how the hammer and sickle are coming out, but I may just add a little few tweaks. I mainly need to focus on finishing the broad strokes on the coat's arms, and the gas mask. 
 
This is the drawing that I'm basing this model off of. I've made some slight changes--mainly to the positioning of the sickle-head on the neck (or lack thereof). The head was just too far forward in the drawing. I may set up a second model to see how it looks with the forward-placed head later.

A fun, yet stressful project

This is my latest project. It was a commissioned Illustration. The client wanted me to tell the story of a mythical creature. This creature was so beautiful that it was worshipped by the native people who in turn fed the race so much that they just got too fat to move and eventually died.

You've served me well...

There comes a time in an artist's life when he finally does work that pencil down to an unworkable nib, or that pen to a dry, desolate carcass. That time has come for this artist and his pencil.
Sure she's still got some good lines in her, but soon she'll go the way of all the Earth and find herself in my trash. All that will remain of her are these pictures. Let it be known that she was good to me and I to her. That is all

Final Project in Maya class - THE EPIC INSECT!

I wanted to have a mix of rhino beetle and wasp... I'm not entirely happy with how it came out, but I learned a ton from this project.

Flight and Walk cycle Animation

These are the two animations that I applied to my major with. Both were done traditionally. The both of them were done on a mix of ones and twos

I'm not sure what happened to the walk-cycle quality, but at least you can make out the motion.

Flour Sack Animation

This animation I did for my Intro to Animation class at BYU. I had just tried out for American Ninja Warrior a few months prior, so I thought this would be fun.

Glass Shatter (Keyframes only)

This again was done in the same week as the other two - its pretty rough since it's only on keyframes, but I was happy with it once I finally got the images strung together

Gunshot (AKA: my second attempt at traditional animation)

I wasn't working, so I had a lot of free time to experiment - this was done a couple of days after I finished the ball bounce (posted underneath this)

So, this technically is not my first hand-drawn animation since I did tend to draw flipbook animations on post-it-notes when I was a wee lad, but I like to think of this as my first.

Finished Cake Topper for my Sister's Wedding!



I roughly modeled the outfits off of what they'd be wearing (My sister wore a short-sleeved jacket for example), but I made some stylistic choices as well. It's hard to tell in the photos, but from above the bottom of the dress looks like a heart. Height: 4.25"
